The studio has been hard at work finishing D&SS and continuing work on Chronicles of Elyria pre-Alpha via the Prelyria client. However, it wasn't released to backers as the month came and went. “Phew! Release 0.4.0 was one of our longest releases to date. First and foremost on the list is Soulbound Studios’ efforts to transition the fantasy MMORPG from Pre-Alpha to Alpha. It’s currently estimating Kingdom of Elyria to launch in late 2023, followed by Chronicles of Elyria the MMO that fans ponied up 1.3M to support back in 2016 in late 2024. The former launch date for Chronicles Of Elyria was 2019, but that has been announced as outdated, and no further timelines have been shared. Specific dates for alpha and beta testing have not yet been announced.
The latest Chronicles of Elyria monthly newsletter is out and it talks about what the devs have been up to for the month of October. Thus, the current plan is to get the early alpha done by the end of January, followed by a mid-alpha test in spring, and a late-alpha in summer. Sound design in Chronicles of Elyria will be based on your actual surroundings, not just a track that loops in a particular zone. No, the game is not playable at this point.
